Instructional Designer( Manager)

Title: Instructional Designer (Managerial Position)

Reporting Structure:

The candidate would report to the Instructional Design Head/Senior Consultant Instructional Design –  depending upon the experience and position in the company

Experience:

4-5 years in the eLearning industry

OR

5-8 years in an editorial position / copy writing / multimedia development

Background:

·         eLearning
·         Journalism
·         Teaching
·         Technical Writing
·         Content Development (for Websites, Multimedia production houses)
·         Copy Writing for Advertising


Qualification:

Graduate/ Post-graduate (preferably in English/ Mass Communication; not mandatory)


Job Description:

The candidate will have to read and understand different types of content and do the following:

·         Structure it into logical chunks
·         Think of creative ways to teach the content – in a Web-based medium
·         Identify visuals (images, graphs, charts, etc) to support the text
·         Translate the ideas into words (in simple English)


In addition, the candidate will have to review scripts created by content writers for:

·         Grammar, spelling, punctuation
·         Tone and style
·         Clarity of expression
·         Instructional design
o   Does the content ‘teach’ effectively?
o   Do the visuals make sense?
o   Is the flow of content appropriate?
o   Are the interactivities appropriate?
o   Do the test and practice questions map to the instructional objectives?

The candidate will also have to work with cross-functional teams, lead a team of content writers, plan/schedule work for the team, interact with clients – both in India and overseas.

Project Manager at A Famous E –Learning Company (Designation will be Business Manager)


Purpose of the Job:
Management of project(s), typically involving planning, development and implementation of systems to meet identified client needs, within defined parameters of cost, time scales, and quality.

Highlights:
·          Challenge of leading and motivating a multifunctional team consisting of Graphic Designers, Software Engineers, Content writers/ Instructional Designers.
·          Managing project(s) for international clients.

Incumbent would be required to perform following tasks:

1.     Define, document and execute projects, actively participating in all phases of the project. Identify, assess and manage risks to the success of the project.
2.     Estimate costs, timescales and resource requirements for the successful completion of each project to agreed terms of reference.
3.     Prepare and maintain project and quality plans and track activities against the plan, providing regular and accurate reports as appropriate.
4.     Monitor costs, timescales and resources used, and take action where these deviate from agreed tolerances. Ensure that delivered systems are implemented within these criteria.
5.     Provide effective leadership to the project team ensuring that team members are motivated and developing their skills and experience. Project Managers will have teams reporting to them and hence people management skills are key to success in this position.

·  MBA from good institute with minimum 4-7 years of experience with at least 2 years in an e-learning / ITES     company in an independent project management role. Hands on experience in dealing   with internal/external client requirements.
