Title: Instructional Designer (Managerial Position)
Reporting Structure:
The candidate would report to the Instructional Design Head/Senior
Consultant Instructional Design – depending
upon the experience and position in the company
Experience:
4-5 years in the eLearning industry
OR
5-8 years in an editorial position / copy writing / multimedia
development
Background:

Teaching
·
Technical Writing
·
Content Development (for Websites,
Multimedia production houses)
·
Copy Writing for Advertising
Qualification:
Graduate/ Post-graduate (preferably in English/ Mass Communication;
not mandatory)
Job Description:
The candidate will
have to read and understand different types of content and do the following:
·
Structure it into logical chunks
·
Think of creative ways to teach the
content – in a Web-based medium
·
Identify visuals (images, graphs,
charts, etc) to support the text
·
Translate the ideas into words (in
simple English)
In addition, the
candidate will have to review scripts created by content writers for:
·
Grammar, spelling, punctuation
·
Tone and style
·
Clarity of expression
·
Instructional design
o
Does the content ‘teach’ effectively?
o
Do the visuals make sense?
o
Is the flow of content appropriate?
o
Are the interactivities appropriate?
o
Do the test and practice questions map
to the instructional objectives?
The candidate will also have to work with
cross-functional teams, lead a team of content writers, plan/schedule work for
the team, interact with clients – both in India and overseas.
